THIS IS IN SANE
I know, I've been there before
Before imagination became reality...
Before when folks told you "just dream" and your dreams could all come true
As much as you can imagine, you can be.
This is insanity before you realize it has crept upon you and stolen all
your fantasies
I know, I've been there before
It's not clear...anymore...Oh, but it never was.
You see, I was in the middle of telling my story,
It was just beginning to unfold when someone turned the lights out.
I stopped mid-sentence; mouth dropped wide open like waiting for a
surprise!
I couldn't focus my eyes
So I stood real still...if I pretended I'm not frightened, just act like
I'm in the light of day,
maybe the lights will come back on, whatever it was scaring me will just go
away
"Be Yourself," "Act the Part," no, "Be Free," no, "Shut Down," "Be Friendly
and Smile,"
no, "Be Defensive and frown"
You turn left, you make a hard right, before you know it you've spun clean
outa' sight
It's busy in here, "Turn on the Damn Light!"
That's it, I've had it I'm ready to fight!
This is insane, only I'm not the one.
I've been your victim and I hope you've had fun.
It's on, it's hot, we're cookin' wit' gas...I know you too well, now it's
your ass!
You're real, but not quite...maybe just out of reach,
oh, but when I'm done it's you who'll be tellin' tales of woe.
I was in the middle of my story.
I'm not finished yet.
My head's in the clouds and my feet soakin' wet from jumpin' in mud puddles
and splashin' my shine
It seemed like a good idea at the time.
You can laugh at whatever, you can cry on the spot,
This is insane...you get it,...
I'm not! I can deliver...
you'd best believe, I know you too well it's time for a real reprieve.
Should you think as an opponent, I'm dismissed, I'm too tame..
You don't know where I'm comin' from, when I sneak ya'...
you can just blame IN SANE.
