FROM STAGE TO THE PAGE

"Slam poets are not poets. A poem that is performed does not have the same impact in print."

I say this is nonsense! The Labyrinth will prove both of these statements wrong.
The reality is not all poets can slam and/or perform. This is a talent
of it's own. The slam and performance poet is a person who has been blessed
with two talents that they learned how to use together to create a unique
and powerful form of expression.
Weak, dry, poorly written and uninspiring poetry can be found in any
genre of poetry. Slam and performance poets have been stereotyped. As
with any stereotype, it is based on ignorance not fact perpetuated by the
poetry elite.
The time has come to take poetry out of the hands of the elitists and
give it back to the masses. Welcome to The Labyrinth.
